Ransomware prevention

Ransomware is currently the biggest threat. Prepare for the worst with our tailored ransomware protection packages for small and medium-sized businesses.

Ransomware Prevention

Ransomware can hit anyone!

Ransomware attacks are currently considered one of the biggest cyber threats. And cyber criminals realized long ago that small and medium-sized companies are very "attractive" targets, as they have much less security know-how and resources than large corporations with their CERTs (Computer Emergency Response Teams), SIRTs (Security Incident Response Teams), SOCs (Security Operation Centers) and/or CDCs (Cyber Defence Centers).

Ransomware

Our ransomware protection packages are tailored to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and address the most important technical and organizational measures required to prevent ransomware attacks or at least to be prepared for them in the best possible way and to be able to make the right decisions even under time pressure.

Our know-how in this area is (unfortunately) constantly updated through numerous incident response missions. Professional ransomware attacks with high ransom demands and complete system failures are by far the number 1 of current incidents.

Do the effort and costs seem too high at first glance? We have been involved in attacks on small and medium-sized enterprises in which six-figure sums were demanded and the victims were sometimes unable to act for weeks. Cyber insurance may reduce the damage if you can prove adequate protective measures, but it does not reduce the probability of occurrence. Our recommendation is therefore metaphorically: It is better to have tested vehicles and trained drivers than just a good health insurance policy.

The goal: to avoid the emergency as best as possible ...

We teach you the Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) of potential attackers, i.e. the usual entry vectors, the spread and early detection of ransomware. Our know-how transfer is completed by various technical checks, in the form of a vulnerability scan, as well as a pentration test. This allows us to uncover your "Achilles heels" with regard to a ransomware attack and enable you to eliminate them. The training measures for employees and IT admins additionally reduce the risks on the human side. After all, 95% of all successful professional ransomware attacks start with a click.

... and still be prepared for it.

Despite all prevention, the worst-case scenario cannot be completely ruled out. That's why we coach you and give you valuable practical tips for an "ideal" response in the event of a ransomware attack. Optionally, we establish an IT emergency management system with you, including the processes, structures, responsibilities and decision-making bodies required in the event of an IT emergency. With this emergency team, we conduct a technical plan meeting and introduce those involved to their (new) roles and responsibilities. We then simulate a ransomware attack and have the emergency team practice the worst case scenario. This is the only way to learn and test the processes.
